A graduate of Illinois State University, a music lover and a concert addict, Kate began her radio career in 1997. She has been with River Country since 2003 and loves the great community enjoyed at WIVR.
A bit of a tomboy, she loves sports like volleyball, football and nascar. “Go Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte and Michael Waltrip!” Kate also has a passion for animals. Over the years, she has rescued or adopted her current furry family of five cats and one dog. “Please, if you're considering adding a new pet to your family - adopt - there are so many animals in need. So, in the words of Bob Barker - always spay and neuter your pets to control the pet population!”

The Community Arts Council is hosting the annual Fall Art Stroll from 11-4 in the 100 blocks of North & South Schyuler Avenue in Kankakee. There's also music & fun at the depot.
Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene is hosting a biker Sunday with live music, free bbq, and a special speaker. Registration is 8:30-10am. Ride is at 1pm from the church on North Entrance Avenue.
St. Joseph Church in Bradley is hosting a breakfast buffet to benefit young Brookelyn Corbin from 8am-11am at 211 N. Center in Bradley. Donations can be made at Homestar Bank or online at bucks4brookelyn.com
St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone is hosting the Cavern Beat, a Beatles Tribute Band from 3-6pm as part of Octoberfest. There's also a steak fry from 12-6pm. Tickets available at St. Paul's 708-258-9580.

I discovered these guys when the opened a show for Cross Canadian Ragweed and I've been a fan ever since. They've shared the stage with some pretty big names like ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Soon they'll even be opening for Kid Rock in Detroit.
Again give these guys a shot, I really think you'll end up lovin' them like I do!
